New Song

Psalm 33:3
"Sing to Him a new song, play skillfully on the strings with loud shouts!"

We encounter our first blog with the number "3". :) One of God's favourites. Personally I always liked "8" and "5". But 3 is good. Real good. As in Psalm 33.

We should always have a new song because God is doing fresh things in our lives - daily. Like lately God has been showing me how unforgiving and self-centered I've been. How limiting that's been. How freeing a humble attitude is. But I digress. A song is basically something that tells a story. I like songs. I sing. Maybe some of you are like - I can't SING! Tell your story then.

Want some things to sing about to God?
How about:
1) God's Undeserved Grace verses 4,5
Did you breathe today? Did you eat today? God's love. God is just, but still God is faithful to the undeserving. The earth is full of God's steadfast love. All good things ultimately come from God. How far the world has gone from it's Creator. How much it's Creator still loves the world - and calls us back to repentance.

2) God's Awesome Creation verses 6-9
When was the last time you or I said to the ocean - "Hey Pacific - I want you over there?". God said it. Ocean not big enough for you? Like the universe for instance. God speaks. Things happen. Big things. The ocean listened. Are we listening?

3) God's Unshakable Word verses 10-12
Hey, ever make a promise then break it? A few times? Okay a LOT? Let's count how many times God's counsel has ever failed.... Hm... okay this is a tough count.... try ZERO! God never makes stupid plans or backs out of promises. His counsel, His Word is unshakeable.

4) God's Strong Deliverance verses 13-19
Ever notice how all people end up in the same boat when it all winds down? Brad Pitt will be old and wrinkled. Angelina Jolie will look like the lunchroom lady. What about eternity? Scary thought. Where will you spend forever? We need deliverance. All of us. Now. We need soul - life. What causes soul-life? Deliverance. He will deliver your soul from death now. Not just in the bye and bye - Hell. Now. What causes soul-death? Same thing as always. Sin. I don't know about you, but I need my soul to come alive every day. Cause pretty much every day I sin. I need a Strong Deliverer.

5) God's Steadfast Love verses 20-22
Ever lose a good friend? Get jipped on what you thought was a deal? God will never, ever fail you. Even if you've failed Him a thousand times. He just doesn't want to pick you up and brush you off. He wants to put you in a solid, sold-out place of obedience and blessing. No blessing without obedience=Repent. We need God's daily blessing of grace. No obedience without blessing=Strength. We need to allow God's daily blessing of His Word.

It's unbelievable what you start picking up when you spend time in God's Word and journalling each day! It's radically life-changing. I hope to post my thoughts on here for you to read and comment on. If it helps in any way, praise God. Examine the blogs for any scary stuff that doesn't quite jive to you too.
